"Falling" in LOVE with Kindergarten

The month of September we made number bracelets to help us count and decompose numbers 1-10!  The students loved making these and had a blast using the beads to show all of the different ways that they could make numbers 1-10.  For example, 1 and 6 makes 7, 2 and 5 makes 7, and so on!

We learned all about why leaves change color....
We even researched owls using non-fictional texts!

We read the story "Leaf Man" and went on a scavenger hunt to collect our own leaves to make our very own leaf men!

We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin and the parts of a pumpkin!

After measuring our pumpkins height with cubes, counting the number of lines our pumpkins had, testing to see if our pumpkin sank or floated in water, and cleaning the pumpkins seeds out of the pumpkins, we organized the seeds into ten frames to help us count the number of seeds by ten.

We used Goldfish to sort, count, tally, and graph today! Tomorrow we will be using skittles and on Thursday, gummy bears!
