We loved learning about the Rainforest!

Some students even typed their reports all by themselves!  They are amazing!

We learned to write a topic sentence, three supporting details, and a closing statement about how animals stay safe in the rainforest. I am beyond impressed with my students' work!

We made "Rainforests in a bottle" to allow us to observe the water cycle!  Make sure that your child is journaling their observations in the journals that I sent home prior to spring break.

Put me in the Zoo!

Another activity from the day we "almost" went to the zoo...

Media Release Forms

As soon as you send back the media release forms, I can begin uploading pictures of your children from a variety of fieldtrips we have taken and fun lessons and activities that they have taken part in

Thank you!

St. Patrick's Day

I made these little gems for the ladies and brought the gents gold coins and tattoos!  Those sassy leprachauns were quite good to us this year! :)

Rainforest Unit

We have been studying the Rainforest in depth the past few weeks and will be for additional week.  We have studied the layers of the rainforest, tried different rainforest foods, made rainforest mud (learned how to write instructions), and have written our rough drafts of our Rainforest reports with a topic sentence, three supporting details, and a closing statement.  We are now in the process of copying our rough drafts onto our final copy papers.  On Friday, we will be creating animals from the rainforest and hanging them up in our classroom.  Next week, the children will be making a Rainforest in a bottle and we will be making observations as we watch seeds grow in our "Rainforests."  Watch more for photos to be added!

We LOVE Dr. Seuss and can rhyme better than a MOOSE!

Just a few of the fun activities we did to celebrate Dr. Seuss during "Read Across America Week"...

Getting a little creative at the house lately...
